The Howdale

The Howdale is superbly situated on the North Cliff enjoying magnificent panoramic views of the North Bay and Castle and yet central for Scarborough's many attractions, being only 5 minutes away from the beach and Peasholm Park. Resident proprietors, Louisa and Kevin, ensure a high standard of cleanliness and comfort is given to all their guests.

We offer a high standard of traditional home cooking with a wide choice of breakfast. We're well known for our large English breakfasts - a good start to your day. Breakfast is served from 8.30am to 9.00am in our beautiful sea view dining room. We have a comfortable sea view lounge for our guests to enjoy. There is also a separate bar lounge with a friendly, cosy atmosphere where sandwiches are also available.

Each of our pleasant bedrooms has a colour TV, hairdryer, clock radio, hospitality tray and a selection of complimentary toiletries. We are centrally heated and double glazed throughout and most of our bedrooms are en suite. Many rooms have sea views. We have our own private car park and guests are given keys for access to their rooms at all times.

Midweek bookings and weekend breaks a pleasure. During low season periods, we offer Mini Breaks at special rates. Scarborough is Yorkshire's premier holiday location with two magnificent bays, the castle headland, various museums, traditional holiday arcades and attractions. There is a good selection of high street stores as well as an abundance of specialist shops for those wishing to browse. Explore the surrounding countryside, visit the North York Moors National Park with its attractive villages and steam railway or spend a day in Whitby, Filey, Bridlington or York - all within easy reach. Whatever your choice, Scarborough is the ideal place to stay.
